Oh la la, French maids, French Kissing, Soisante-neuf and the well-known aphrodisiac power of garlic… the French must be thoroughly sick of all the cliches. How the French got the reputation of exotic sensuality is anyone’s guess but it might have come from being just across the channel from Britain (‘No Sex Please, We’re British’) – English gentlemen having long partied in the wild Parisian nightlife a safe distance away from Victorian prudity.

On the other hand the French have always had a reputation for poor hygiene evidenced by the Hebrew phrase ‘a French shower’, referring to when you only have time to wash your armpits and private parts…

Modern French girls and guys have very little to do with the platitudes in circulation, however and your chances of getting a hot date in France are probably more based on your ability to speak French – particularly in Paris where the locals may feign inability to speak English just for the fun of it.

A more liberal atmosphere pervades down towards the Mediterranean of Marseille and Nice – if you happen to be rich enough to own your own yacht you should be beating back hot French beauties with a baguette.
