Health and Safety in Argentina

Argentina is much safer than other South American countries, although petty crime like muggings are always a concern. Don’t carry valuables into areas of any city unfrequented by tourists.
Kidnapping is on the rise in Buenos Aires, although it still hasn’t reached the level of that in Mexico City. You are unlikely to be a target, though, unless you are the son or daughter of someone famous.

The food in Argentina is delicious and very safe to eat.
While trekking in Patagonia there are the usual risks associated with the outdoors. There is little chance of anyone coming to rescue you should you break a leg on a mountain or glacier somewhere. Remember to account for the cold especially in the Spring/Fall seasons when the temperatures can drop sharply.
