Rio de Janeiro – Ah, the Marvellous City, home to samba and bossanova, stunning beaches with tropical hills shooting up behind them. There are sculpted bodies on the sands, swinging music joints at night and settings that were god’s gift to the postcard industry.

Of course there are also the poverty of the favelas on those tropical hills, militia killings of doped up black kids on the street and some of the most superficial people in the world – but nossa senhora do they know how to have a good time.

Go drinking all night, embarrass yourself trying to keep time to a samba beat and end up making out with someone whose name you instantly forgot in true Brazilian style.
