Romania isn’t really where most travelers come to work. People are running away from here as fast as they can to work elsewhere. Wages are pitiful and there isn’t much money around to hire your services.

Without a good command of Romanian, business opportunities are limited but in the age of outsourcing, Bucharest could be a good place to find cheap talent for your own projects.

Teaching English is always an option but you most certainly wouldn’t be in it for the money. If you got enough private students from the richer families then you might find a way of getting by.

If you can find a small stream of cash from outside the country though, it will go a long way in Romania. Food is fairly cheap and at 4 beers for a dollar, good times are to be had for very little.
