On the south end of South America, Argentina’s climate varies from the temperate Buenos Aires to the freezing glaciers of Tierra del Fuego – the rather misleadingly named ‘land of fire’.
For the Argentines the main attraction of a good climate is surely the chance to wear the latest Western fashions and continue to pretend that the country is really a little piece of Europe that got lost along the way.
Buenas Aires is the capital and is one of the coolest cities in South America with great nightlife and wide palzas where intellectuals drink coffee and make appointments with their shrink.

Cordoba is a more relaxed alternative with plenty of life from the university there and is set up in the hills.
You can catch some of the beauty of the Andes in the mountain town of Mendoza.
Patagonia is pretty much the end of the earth before you reach the glaciers and you can easily get lost in this land of mountains and long sweeping plains.
Tierra del Fuego is the end of the earth, hence why political prisoners used to be sent there. Beautiful though.
