Patagonia is the seemingly endless expanse as South America comes to a mountainous and icy conclusion, stretching thousands of miles with sparse population and plenty of places to die of exposure.

The tundra gets icy in the winter and covered in snow, as do the mountain peaks where the Argentines go skiing around Barloche – fear not, in the summer you can just hitch out into the middle of the wilderness and see no one.
