Fans of the site may have noticed that our server went down for a couple of days – as a result of a concerted effort by an Indian hacker organization mysteriously identifying themselves as Ganeshymous.

Fans of the site may have noticed that our server went down for a couple of days – as a result of a concerted effort by an Indian hacker organization mysteriously identifying themselves as Ganeshymous.

Apparently the angry Calcuttans were unhappy with Road Junky’s characterizations of their country as a ‘land of no logic,’ and insisted that the talent of IT people from India is unparalleled. Ganeshymous released the following statement:

“Road Junky we have been warning you many times about your inaccuracies about our culture and now your worse fear has come true. We unleash the power of India – the empire of the 21st century – and bring your server crashing down as opens the eye of Shiva.

The editors of Road Junky refuse to bow to such pressure and defend our right to issue opinionated, offensive western-centric descriptions of foreign countries.

Junky-in-Chief Tom Thumb has this message to the terrorists: “Our way of life passing judgments on your way of life is non-negotiable and we will never alter the content of our guides.”

Junky Editor Jim Klee adds: “We acknowledge the depth and beauty of the Indian culture especially the rickshaw and wish you guys hadn’t hacked us. Oh, and do any of you guys know PHP we can really use a programmer right now?”

No response has yet been made by Ganeshymous.

But we’re hoping they’ll post in the forum thread
