Let's face it - the entire world is mapped out. At last count the Lonely Planet guidebook covered 118 countries in print. Online travel guides like wikitravel covereverything else that slips. and see decent resolution satellite imagery from all around the world. imagery from all around the world.
So is there an art of getting lost while traveling? When traveling without a guidebook how can one get away from the hordes and get to places that stoke the imagination? Let us know about in the travel forum.

Gregg Treinish and Deia Schlosberg continue their epic adventure trekking through the Andes, now in the Cordillera Blanca in Peru. So far they've been freezing on high Andean peaks and wallowing with sloths in the Amazon.
Their stated goal is Tierra del Fuego by foot, but we don't really believe anyone's feet can withstand that kind of hardship. Watch as they prove us wrong undertaking Road Junky's kind of spirited travel. Read all about their experiences here:

Jordan - Not Michael - is a small oil-less patch of desert wedged uncomfortably in between Israel, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. The country is a western, modern oasis of calm and friendliness in an ancient, often chaotic part of the world, where the buses run on time, the crime rate is low to non existent, and “Welcome to Jordan” repeatedly rolls off the Arab tongues with seemingly genuine sincerity.
