Grinding out a living in a government department in Wellington, New Zealand, pays the bills for Simon Bidwell to gradually fulfill his ambition of seeing every part of Latin America. Simon occasionally has freelance articles published in various New Zealand newspapers and maagzines. His greatest achievement to date is defeating all the locals in a beer-drinking race at 3,800 metres above sea level on the Peruvian Altiplano.
