The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Exists! It's the Kindle!

hitchhikers guide galaxy

A big inspiration

Access wikipedia from anywhere for free forever. Douglas Adams died before his time.

Thanks to the brilliant xkcd.com we now know that the big deal about Amazon’s updated Kindle is that it has made the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy a reality.

Ok, it might still be limited to the US but dig it, one day wikipedia and wikitravel really might cover everything! Not only that but the Kindle uses e-ink (god, when will someone make a flexiscreen laptop with e-ink?) a technology that means the screen no longer hurts your eyes. Honest.

Maybe version 3 of the Kindle will have solar cells so you’d never even need to plug it in!

And if you’re wondering whether Amazon paid us to write this article pimping the Kindle, the answer is no but they bloody well ought to…
