Man vs. Wild – we’re just waiting for the episode where Bear survives penniless for weeks on the mean streets of Bogota.

What? A TV program mentioned on Road Junky?

And you thought we’d be too busy wallowing in holes in 3rd world countries to watch TV!

It turns out that in this case we were able to identify with the experiences of host Bear Grylls as he undergoes for re-enactments of real-life near-death events. What traveler hasn’t almost frozen to death sleeping outside being too lost, poor, or stupefied to find proper lodging?

Bear goes out of his way to instruct us how to make it through when we’re left on our own out in the open. Whether it’s falling into freezing water or consuming maggots this guy really goes to extremes to entertain, er… I mean educate us on the fine art of not dying in the wilderness.

Now we’re just waiting for the episode where Bear survives penniless for weeks on the mean streets of Bogota.

Man vs. Wild airs on the Discovery Channel in the United States.

Road Junky is getting interactive!
