Roadjunky is looking for travel writers with verve to expand our collection of guides and stories from around the world. To submit an article or a country guide please read the following guidelines and then send an email to our editors.

First of all, and we really hate having to repeat this, read the material on the site and make sure you understand who we are and what we do. We’re after hard hitting, funny, raw journalism, not middle of the road touristic pieces.

Do we pay?

We pay for country, city and feature guides and offer a free showcase for travel stories.

Guidelines for Submitting a Travel Story

We don;t pay for travel stories but we keep the quality of submissions very high on the site and as such Road Junky is a great showcase for your work. We’ve helped writers sell several stories after being found by commissioning editors on our site.

Stories should be between 600-3000 words if possible and photos are welcomed.

If you have a great travel book you want to share we could publish interesting portions on the site.

Photos

Roadjunky now features photo guides highlighting interesting cultural aspects of countries around the world. Send us your best photos in medium to high JPEG compression, TIFF or PNG sized no larger than 700×700 pixels with a caption for each. It is best if your photos all pertain to one theme. You may provide contact information if you wish to use Roadjunky as a means to sell higher quality prints of your work.

Videos

Roadjunky now features videos featuring travel locations, adventures and issues. Video should be in the form of clips of length no longer than 10:58. Roadjunky only shares videos with the permission of the copyright owner, and all submitted videos will be shared publicly via Youtube or other online video services.

Author Information

For the reader to be able to read between the lines they need to know what kind of self-appointed expert you are who wrote the damn thing. Please include the following information with your submission: Name, Age, Profession, A short bio in the the 3rd person. A newspaper review of your life, character and works. Homepage URL if you have one.

We will include your biography in our authors section.
