The Bible has a lot to answer for.
There are few interviewers with quite the talent Louis Theroux has for drawing people out of themselves. His bland, harmless expression convinces his subjects they’re speaking to someone who just doesn’t get it, prompting them to really spell out just what they think and feel.
There’s a tendency to get bored with the situation in Israel/Palestine as things never seem to get any better. More settlements are built each year, rockets keep getting fired at Israeli cities and peace envoy after peace envoy is sent to the Middle East to get the peace process ‘back on track’.
But people are living through it all day after day. Louis Theroux goes in to meet the Israeli settlers, a small minority with a disproportionate influence on the whole conflict.
